Now that the majority of screen resolutions out there can handle 1024px widths, I am moving towards designing for that width rather than the 800×600 dimensions to which we used to be handcuffed. But the question remains… “What design width works best with 1024?” I read a great blog entery on this topic at Cameron Moll’s blog. He concludes that 960px is best. Since I am into grid-based designs, I particularly like his insight that the design’s pixel width should be easily divisible.
